    Shawl Collar Jacket

Revival Retro carefully considers our fabric selection. Not only must the fabric be appropriate for the garment and desirable by our customers, we also consider impact on the environment, where and how it is made.

We source this cloth from a mill in Italy. We choose a blend rather than a pure wool for our mix and match separates because it means these everyday wear items can be machine washed rather than dry cleaned.

Our research has shown most of the mills in the UK specialise in wool that can only be spot cleaned or dry cleaned, so we might source this for a jacket but don’t generally use pure wools for trousers, skirts, culottes etc.

We believe clothing should last and part of enjoying wearing something time and again means the ability to machine wash plays an important part in facilitating that.

Our wool mix is woven to order and freighted by road to London where we make the garments.

In 2020 we discovered a marvellous little business in the Cotswolds that is trying to revive the art of British button making and using sustainable materials to create new buttons using traditional techniques. Now we’ve found them we are in the process of changing over all our garments to source from this company in future.

Our own range is Made in Britain, in fact it was made locally in London. We have a great relationship with our factories and are regularly in and out so we get to know who made our clothes.

At the heart of any business is people and Team Revival care and are involved in the design and decision making over every garment we produce.
