Part Time Support Team Member (Flexible hours)

We need a super organized person to help keep us on top of everything.

Tasks could be broad ranging, from mind numbingly boring repetitive to crazy, fun creative stuff:

One day you could be steaming a hundred pieces of clothing next day you could be doing research to help with the development of new designs. One week you might be working on Pinterest, the next you might be scanning and filing receipts. You could be cleaning or doing visual merchandising or updating the website or creating content or completing adminstrative procedures!

You won’t be working in just one department. Being part of a small business everybody gets involved and shares responsibility. In this kind of environment people who are not daunted by trying new things tend to thrive not just survive. A ‘can do’ positive attitude will take you far. We will always provide support and training where you need it.

To be effective in this role you should know that it’s the small stuff that matters. You need to be quick, efficient and hard working but it’s your attention to detail that will have your team members thanking you. Getting things done is good, getting things done right, is great. We are a very small team and everyone relies on each other, being able to trust the work each of us completes is fundamental and, of course, communication is key.

Self motivated individuals will easily find this a role they can sink their teeth in to. Ideal candidates will be capable of showing initiative but willing to ask for help or guidance when needed. As you become familiar with our ways of working the expectation is that you will quickly read a situation, prioritise according to the needs of the company and action accordingly.

You will be the person that makes sure the shop runs smoothly, the website is up to date, that orders are picked, packed and dispatched on time. Your colleagues on the shop floor will come to count you as the brilliant, indispensible, knowledgable team mate who keeps everything flowing.

In this role we are not looking for sales experience as you will primarily be a support person. There will be customer contact though and it will be sociable. You don’t have to be a confident and outgoing sales personality but it will help if you are enthusiastic about talking to people, getting to know them and building relationships.

Your special talents that make you perfect for this role, you can tell us in your application, but your underlying core skills will be:

  • A positive attitude and a diligent work ethic
  • The ‘care factor’ that makes customers love Revival Retro.
  • IT literate, mac savvy & can intuit your way around most apps and cloud software
  • Able to prioritise and ensure actions are completed
  • Interested in building your knowledge and improving your skill base.
  • Attention to detail in data entry, stock processing and order management.
  • Stock management, stationary monitoring and administrative support
  • Flexibility, openness and the ability to pivot between tasks and projects
  • Understands work efficiency and how this is critical to the business

The role will be an initial short term contract for minimum 3 days per week for 4 months at which point we will review the number of hours required to be contracted for this role with a view to hopefully making this it permanent. Revival Retro pays the London Living Wage.

Send a covering letter with your CV by 14 June 2019 that tells us:

  1. Amid the wide ranging tasks you might perform in this role which aspects do you naturally gravitate towards? What will you excel at?
  2. Give us an example where you felt overwhelmed with too much to do, how you found a way forward and what you achieved?
  3. Tell us what you think it will be like working in a small team and why working for an independent business attracts you?
  4. Let us know your preferred hours.

Eagle eyed candidates will spot that there is the chance to combine the two part time roles we are advertising into one Full Time position. Please make clear in your application that this is your preference and make sure you address in your covering letter why you are interested in combining these two roles and why your skills and talents make you the person we should hire for this position.
