Floral Dresses for the win!

I love me some florals- throughout the year I must add, but there’s nothing like a new floral dress at the start of spring. The nights are getting longer, we’ve had the first few sunny days of the year, and my fellow Londoners seem a little less grumpy and more likely to smile randomly at people.

The Frances is a lovely elegant cotton dress with a full skirt, contrasted deep sweetheart neckline and a waist tie (to help cinch it in and accentuate those curves). Her colour main colour is a warm cream with peach undertones, and the florals are really varied from bright pink accents through to olive green. She’s great for petite figures or ladies wanting to skip the subject of their tummy entirely, as she’s shorter in the body length and sits above the natural waist.

Frances is great for those romantic summer evenings that start off with dinner and finish with a lazy walk. At the dinner table the top half is fabulously feminine. That neckline! Be modest with a pearl necklace or drip diamantes over yourself- you can work both looks. The circle skirt is comfortable and will disguise a three course meal with ease, meaning you’re comfortable to stroll in the warm evening air without worrying about your silhouette.

For a sexy evening look: wear with the Eva Shoe or Sergei Sandal in Red, and the Gold Topaz necklace. The Mighty Purse in Gold is the perfect clutch for the colours in the dress (regardless of the colours you accent with) and it’ll charge your phone so you can stay powered all night long!

For a sweet daytime look, wear with bright flats or a cute little heel like the Juliette in mustard. I’m a huge advocate of cardigans- I would add the Salina Cardigan in mustard for some awesomely fun coordination.

If you want a look that’s somewhere between sexy and sweet, for something like a wedding, I suggest going for neutral toned accessories. Give this girly silhouette a grown-up edge with nude and cream tones. The Salina cardigan in cream and the Chester Sandal in bone will let the colours in the dress be the star of the show. Add a string of pearls around the neck, and a metallic clutch for that pop of glamour, and you’re ready for your complimentary glass of champagne!

I was going to write some recommendations for the yummy blue-based Primrose floral dress (great for curvy girls) and the delicious peach sorbet coloured Cora (which is fabulous on taller ladies)… But I’ve realised that they will all work with the same accessories! Talk about working smarter and not harder….

Have fun!
