Who wants to wear badly made, mass produced fashion? Not us!

Are you utterly frustrated with the High Street? Shopping for clothes has never made me so depressed!

Badly constructed. Poor fabric choices. Designs that I’m not sure would flatter anyone. The problem is that everything is mass produced as cheaply possible.

This was one of the main motivations behind opening my shop, The Revival Retro Boutique.

Where to shop for flattering clothes

The chain stores I had frequented in the past no longer seemed to hold any appeal. I didn’t seem to fit in anywhere and the clothes didn’t seem to fit my curvy figure. I knew I wasn’t alone so I set about creating the kind of store where I would like to shop.

Fortunately, lots of women agreed and since 2009 we've helped lots of women enjoy a better shopping experience. There been lot's of smiles, excitement and joyful stories over the years.

I'm not interested in trends. There I said it! I’m not fashionable but I do believe I have a good sense of style and I love it when women find their groove and own their own individual style.

I like “classic” and “elegant”, I’m inspired by the sophistication and glamour of old hollywood starlets such as Marlene Dietrich, Kathrine Hepburn, Bette Davis and others. In that sense I am inspired by vintage, however, I don’t want to live in the past and I don’t like  smelly old moth balled shops crammed full of second hand clothing. Everything we sell in our boutique is new and available off the peg in a range of sizes.

I like to shop for something special and a little bit different. I want well made clothing that fits and flatters. I don’t want it to gape, or strain or garments to inadvertently body shame me for not being stick thin.

Independent Shop London

Hat shopping in London

I like vintage inspired clothing because it channels the feminine tailoring of the forties, feminine silhouettes of the fifties and elegant designs of the thirties but all clothing is new not second hand. There's new arrivals every month so it's worth regularly visiting back (or sign up to the mailing list). Whether you need an outfit to attend a summer wedding or a glamorous frock for a NYE party, visit our independent shop in central London.

Clothes for curvy women London shopping

We are all different shapes and sizes and for a small independent shop I try to be as inclusive as possible. The core sizes stocked are 8-14 but the broader range includes 6-22. Shoe sizes include up to size 9 where possible.

It makes all the difference when sales staff are genuinely interested and know what they are talking about though at the same time not too intrusive or pushy. They should be polite, friendly not snobby and capable of offering useful recommendations not just trying to flog me anything.

Helpful staff who care about customers

So that’s how I recruit my staff, that’s how we decide our stock and these common frustrations are what motivates us to do better. We are all passionate about what we do and as we get to know our customers over time we take great delight in enticing you with new arrivals we know you will love.
