This Autumn Revival Retro launched a new line of women's suits.
Aware that our customers struggle to find lightweight jackets that are large enough in the bust to button up without gaping yet fitted enough at the waist to create a flattering shape we decided to launch our own.
Finding jackets to fit a bigger bust is a real struggle but our curvy ladies are often well endowed in the hips and bum also. Finding pencil skirts with a workable waist to hip ratio can be equally challenging!
Many women buying our jackets want to buy a skirt in a matching fabric to create a women's suit tailored to their needs. Big up top but slim through the hip / perfect hourglass shape / wide hips and narrow waist? We are all different so we wanted to come up with different mix and match options.
Our handy pocket A line skirt has been extremely popular but some women wanted a pencil skirt and we thought the best way to satisfy our customers differing needs was via a Made to Measure service.
Here is blogger and instagrammer Vintage Maedchen by Victoria wearing the pencil skirt we made to fit her slim but curvy measurements. She wears it with the Curve flattering Womens Jacket in a size 8 (though for the perfect fit we all agreed a size 6 jacket would have been better!).
As the title suggests 'made to measure' necessitates that you be present in the shop for us to measure you, this also affords us the opportunity to discuss whether we make it figure hugging and sassy, work appropriate fit with longer length, tapered or straight etc etc. There's lot's to consider!
For this reason you will need two appointments with Charlotte, our skilled seamstress, in person, in our London boutique. Appointments are offered between the following times; 11:30am-3pm and 4:30-7pm (last appointment time is 6:30) Monday to Saturday subject to availability. Simply ring the store on 0207 636 8922 during opening hours 11-7 to request.
At the initial appointment Charlotte will discuss with you where the skirt is designed to sit on the body, show you a sample displaying all the features and take your measurements.
At the second appointment, the skirt will be tried on and checked for size. The length will be pinned up and the hem tapered, both to the customers’ preference but with the guidance of Charlotte. At the end of this appointment the customer will be given the choice of coming to collect their skirt or have it posted to an address of their choice.
If you decide to proceed with an order payment must be taken in full (£149) at the initial appointment and an agreement signed. Made to measure pencil skirts are non refundable and non exchangeable so it's important to clarify details with Charlotte during the initial appointment.
Turnaround time will be four weeks from payment date providing you can make a first and second appointment within this timeframe. Ideally the second appointment for final fitting will be made no later than the end of week three.
Any alterations required once the skirt is finished will be an extra charge.
Our made to measure pencil skirts service is offered in conjunction with the purchase of a jacket from the same range as such the only fabrics available are those currently on offer for our current available jackets.
If you would like a different lining to our standard polyester lining, you must provide it. There is no discount or extra charge if you supply your own preferred lining. The lining must be brought to the first appointment and it's use agreed during that appointment.
