We love a high waisted trouser here at Revival Retro so when we saw these vintage inspired cropped ones from Emmy Design Sweden we knew we had to add them to our collection!
High waist trousers are incredibly comfortable whilst at the same time being both vintage inspired and stylish. For added style and comfort, the Hepburn Slacks feature a cinch back which can be used to tighten the waist to your desired fit or simply left as a nice detail. If you're familiar with Emmy Design Sweden then you will recognise this feature from many of their vintage inspired trouser designs such as The Good Old Grandpa Pants.
Along with the high waist, the pleats at the front add to the comfort level as they give you a little extra space around the stomach and hips. If when you look at the measurement chart you find yourself in between sizes, you will be glad to hear that there is 1.5" in the centre back seam at the waist. As they are constructed like men's tailored trousers they are very easy to let out.
The tapered ankle length will of course hit you all at different points on the leg depending on your height and shape. Emmy in the sweater is 5'9, Alex in the burgundy blouse is 5'7 and Mary in the mustard cardigan is 5'5. If you're worried about them not hitting you in quite the right spot they can easily be shortened and, thanks to the extra 3,1" hem allowance, lengthened.
We chose to stock these vintage inspired cropped trousers in a machine washable viscose and wool mix in a soft and woolly weave plaid. Whilst machine washable is very important to us, we also fell in love with the colour. Whilst the plaid gives an overall stone colour, it actually features navy, and mustard, with hints of dusty blue and mauve, giving you endless colour combination options. Very versatile.
Lastly we just have to mention the pockets. We're always a bit lost when a garment doesn't have pockets so we're pleased to tell you that despite being vintage inspired, these cropped trousers not only have some but they're functional too.
