Description

  • A timeless addition to your wardrobe, inspired by the 1950s, which epitomises classic feminine style and is designed to be worn every day.
  • The waistline is nipped in and the beautifully-pleated skirt resembles an A-line style but doesn’t kick out too drastically, to give just the right balance of fullness.
  • The length hits just below the knee – the most flattering length for most of us.
  • This versatile high-necked shirt dress is made in sensually soft but thick, breathable organic cotton. It holds the gathers in the skirt perfectly and makes this a dress for all seasons.
  • In the skirt’s side seams you will find two discrete but generous pockets. Thanks to the skirt’s fullness you can hide even the largest of phones without spoiling the beautiful line.
  • We are proud to have this dress made locally in London. We even found an English company reviving the art of button making; in this case using corozo nut, rather than plastic.
  • Material: 100% environmentally-friendly, GOTS-certified, organic cotton. Machine washable.

SIZE & FIT

  • We design for different body shapes and this style is brilliant for women with bigger hips and thighs but the bodice isn't roomy like some of our other styles. Women with bigger a bust could certainly try this but we would also direct you towards styles such as "Notting Hill" or "Brighton".

UK 8 - 28'

    The Blackpool Dress

Revival Retro carefully considers it’s fabric selection. Not only must the fabric be appropriate for the garment and desirable by our customers, we also consider impact on the environment, where and how it is made.

This summer dress is made from an organic cotton that is G.O.T.S certified.

With GOTS certification we know that every part of the process of creating this cotton has been inspected. Not all cottons are created equally!

We chose cotton because it is a natural fibre which many people value in hotter weather and because it is practical and easy. We believe clothing should last and part of enjoying wearing something time and again means the ability to machine wash a garment plays an important part in facilitating that.

We chose ECO FRIENDLY buttons for the bodice, Corozo Nut buttons are a wonderful alternative to plastic because they are ethical, durable, renewable, harvested naturally and biodegradable. They are pricier than plastic but we feel the extra cost is worth it for these reasons.

This dress was Made in Britain, in fact it was made locally in London. We have a great relationship with our factories and are regularly in and out so we get to know who made our clothes.

At the heart of any business is it’s people and Team Revival care and are involved in the design and decision making over every garment we produce.

This dress was designed by team member Lottie (read about her inspiration here), Fran our expert pattern cutter helped us realise our design ideas, Julie made our sample and Bill oversees our small batch production in East London. Our small business takes a considered approach with our production and we care deeply about what we make and why it is of value.
