Provenance

The Deco Darling Top

A  50 % cotton and 50 % modal combination offering the softness of cotton and lustre of modal whilst being hypoallergenic.

Modal is a manufactured fibre and a type of rayon but is not considered synthetic as it is made from natural cellulose from beech trees which is then turned into fibre using an environmentally-friendly process. Modal fibres are very soft, drape well, resist creasing, and have a smooth lustrous finish. Modal is 50 % more resistant to shrinkage than cotton and tends to pill less. Furthermore, at 50 % more absorbent than cotton, Modal is excellent at wicking moisture away from the body and keeping you feeling fresh and cool.

Cotton has many advantages, such as its ability to “breathe” and control moisture, its insulating ability to protect from heat in the Summer and cold in the Winter, its softness and its hypoallergenic and durable abilities.

Emmy Design Sweden

By focusing on timeless style and a quality that lasts for years, Emmy aims to slow down the pace of the fashion industry, reduce needless mass production and thus do what they can to help protect the environment. Their small scale production is split between two factories, they make their clothing in Lithuania and their knitwear in Morocco. Fabrics are sourced internationally according to Emmy’s specifications.

This small business is run by two women, sisters in fact. Emmy is the designer; she founded the company in 2010. Lisa came on board to help run the company after finishing her management degree in 2015. The level of thought, effort and professionalism that goes into every detail of their work to ensure best fit, style, quality and service is testament to these wonderful women’s achievements.
