Description

  • If you have ever been disappointed or frustrated by the poor quality and poor fit of clothes available on the high street then it's time to step into the wonderful world of Revival. Our aesthetic is retrospective rather than fashion forward, we are inspired by beautiful bygone eras, especially the feminine tailoring of the 1940s and 1950s fashions, the attention to detail and the care with which garments were constructed.
  • This curve flattering jacket has room in the bust, nips in at the waist and skims over larger hips.
  • Also available in: Charcoal Wool Mix
  • It's a classic button down style but with more room in the bust than you might find in other high street shops. Room in the hip too but defined at the waist just like the flattering shapes of Fifties haute couture. See some of our other jacket shapeshere.
  • Our Raspberry Red/Pink jacket is 100% pure wool opposed to the wool mix we usually offer. The raspberry wool has a herringbone weave. A synthetic wool mix is our preferred fabric for our mix and match separates because it is machine washable, which is important for skirts and trousers even if it's less so for a jacket. Currently we are only offering pure wool in our Richmond Jacket, we will wait to hear feedback from purchasers to find out if you would like other matching items.
  • Spot clean or dry clean only
  • This Revival Retro Jacket is 100% wool. The lining is 100% satin acetate
  • Made in Britain, in fact locally here in London.
  • We have teamed this jacket with our Waterloo trousers which you can view here.

SIZE & FIT

  • Designed to fit a 'curvy woman'. Curvy women can be a size 8 or a size 18 it simply means we acknowledge you have boobs, waist and hips
  • The following measurements have been taken by laying the jacket flat, pulling it taught and then doubling that measurement. When choosing your size please consider what you will be wearing underneath it and how fitted or loose you would like the jacket to be. For example, one of staff members wears a UK 12 in most clothing and with a blouse, knitted cardigan and skirt, her bust measures38" and waist 33" and the UK 12 Richmond jacket fits her perfectly.
UK 6 - 27" waist, 36” bust
UK 8- 29" waist, 38” bust
UK 10- 31" waist, 40” bust
UK 12- 33" waist, 42.5” bust
UK 14- 35” waist, 44.5” bust
UK 16- 37" waist, 46” bust
UK 18 - 39” waist, 47.5” bust
UK 20 - 40” waist, 49” bust
  • Proud to be making clothing that fits bigger boobs.

The Richmond Jacket

Revival Retro carefully considers our fabric selection. Not only must the fabric be appropriate for the garment and desirable by our customers, we also consider impact on the environment, where and how it is made.

We source this cloth from a mill in Italy. We choose a blend rather than a pure wool for our mix and match separates because it means these everyday wear items can be machine washed rather than dry cleaned.

Our research has shown most of the mills in the UK specialise in wool that can only be spot cleaned or dry cleaned, so we might source this for a jacket but don’t generally use pure wools for trousers, skirts, culottes etc.

We believe clothing should last and part of enjoying wearing something time and again means the ability to machine wash plays an important part in facilitating that.

Our wool mix is woven to order and freighted by road to London where we make the garments.

In 2020 we discovered a marvellous little business in the Cotswolds that is trying to revive the art of British button making and using sustainable materials to create new buttons using traditional techniques. Now we’ve found them we are in the process of changing over all our garments to source from this company in future.

Our own range is Made in Britain, in fact it was made locally in London. We have a great relationship with our factories and are regularly in and out so we get to know who made our clothes.

At the heart of any business is people and Team Revival care and are involved in the design and decision making over every garment we produce.
