As I tell anyone who will listen to me, this was my bridesmaids dress (did you read my blog about that?) so for this one I can certainly tell you about occasion-wear whilst being sensible! Some muted heels - I went with nude – are a good shout along with a string of pearls and some lipstick. Hair up or half-up-half-down depending on how you’re feeling. A pashmina to match your choice of shoes is a good option – because we all know even if those weddings are in the summer, the rain follows us here.
For a date or party? How about pairing this dress with some of our balboas – there are so many colours to chose from you can hardly go wrong. The twist in the tale here is, if you have one, wear it with a leather jacket. Trust me. It gives this fabulously feminine dress a tough edge that is a very sexy contrast. I say that because unlike my colleagues I'm not a huge cardigan fan. But if you're not into leather jackets, then a cardigan is an excellent option! One of our organic cotton ones add a bit of texture and interest.
This dress is the one dress no one ever believes it is possible to dress down- but it is! Throw on some thicker tights, find those DM boots you know are hiding in the cupboard, or some converse and grab the oversized jumper/cardigan you love wearing some much. I think if you throw something on the top half of this dress, it essentially become a pencil skirt as far as anyone else is concerned. Handy!
