Hi there! Do you follow us on Instagram? We have not one but TWO accounts and this blog is about the best nine of 2016 on @RevivalRetro
December is the time when people look back at the year and highlight their nine most liked posts. Here's our #bestnine2016 for our main Instagram @RevivalRetro. Hopefully you will find some style inspiration and advice on our best buys this year.
If you are a regular follower of ours then you will notice that many of our best on Instagram this year are fairly recent and in fact that means that some of our best products that we have posted are still available to purchase. Let's take a look.
Sam's curves earned her the number one spot of our most liked post in 2016. What a beauty! Since taking this photo of Sam we have now taken delivery the same dress in a new monochrome pattern so now there is two colours to choose from in this day dress by Stop Staring (subject to availability). This Stop Staring Dress is the same style our ever popular Stop Staring Celebrity Dress the only difference being that Celebrity is made of a more stretchy fabric.
Nora is a London based vintage blogger whom we have come to know and love and Victoria from Leipzig Germany is another vintage blogger who we invited to come and meet us. These two hit if off immediately and little wonder that our two favourite Instagram girls had heaps in common and lots to talk about. This is a photograph we took of them at an event we held in September. Nora bought our 1940s style wrap dress and Victoria purchased the Vintage Style Dress Eliza. Click the links to check current availability in your size these dresses were stocked in UK sizes 8 - 18.
We are huge fans of Trashy Diva Clothing and are proud official UK stockists of this American brand. Wine Dots print is the most recent of addition to the Trashy Diva range at Revival Retro. Ordering from the states can be a tricky business not just getting your size right but also navigating the international shipping charges and additional import fees that are added once your purchase clears UK customs. UK buyers benefit from paying one price with free UK shipping with no extra costs or charges. Exchanges and returns are quick and easy. European shoppers also have peace of mind that online orders ship from our London shop so EU terms and conditions apply.
This year our choice of colours and sizes was bigger than ever and they still sold out in record time! These high quality knits are worth every penny as they are so warm and cosy. Also the cropped 1940s cardigan style is very flattering and maintains a great silhouette. An excellent pairing with our vintage style dresses. So many of our customers were left wanting more this year that we have already started a wishlist for our September 2017 delivery!!! To get on it just email firstname.lastname@example.org or talk to us in the shop.
This is @VintageMaedchen_by_Victoria in the same vintage style dress as before. Isn't the art deco fan print just stunning and i just love how Victoria has accessorised it. That beautiful hat is a vintage original, the necklace is from Revival Retro you can check out more necklaces here aswell as seamed stockings and reproduction vintage shoes.
This picture fuelled a global stampede for these vintage style trousers. We are not kidding!!! People are still emailing us about them long after they sold out within 48 hours of Sam posting this picture of herself. If you are wondering, Sam has been waist training for some time now, she is wearing a What Katie Did corset and as such her curves are greatly enhanced. These fantastic 1940s style trousers have been stocked each Autumn for the last few years along side other styles that flatter different body shapes. Everyone is different and we try to accommodate a wide range of shapes and sizes. Check out our current range of 1940s Style Trousers.
Can you believe it? Our small business was invited to Number 10!!!!! In 2016 Revival Retro was picked as one of the #SmallBiz100 and was chosen to display our wares to ministers, press and the P.M. at the UK launch of Small Business Saturday this year. We are huge supporters of this grass roots movement, highlighting to consumers the importance of #shopsmall #buyindependent and support local business. Each year we collaborate with other small businesses in our neighbourhood to raise awareness and encourage further support.
This picture is of Team Revival in November all dressed up ready to go to the awards ceremony. Winning a Best Shop award for a second year in a row really made our year and it was so lovely to read so many 5 star reviews of the service at our London boutique. 2016 has been a difficult year for many small businesses austerity, brexit, pound devaluation and so many big picture challenges that knowing you have the love and support of so many regular, loyal customers reminds us that all the hard work is worth it. The Love London Awards will be back in September 2017 but until then you can still add your review here.
Last year a vintage style pair of green shoes by Miss L Fire were purchased from our store by a stylist for a production company. Little did we know these green shoes would be on TV adverts, billboards by motorways and in the window of every Lloyds bank nationwide! This created quite a clamour for the shoes from the advert. Itis little wonder then that green shoes feature again this year as one of our most liked posts. This is a 1940s style court shoe by Miss L Fire called Addie click here to buy them or check out our full range of Vintage Style Shoes here, there are new deliveries almost every month.
Our other account is @RevivalRetro_TeamLondon where you can see more behind the scenes footage and fun from staff in our boutique which is open Monday to Saturday 11-7.
