London Hat Week 22-28 March 2018

Thursday 22 – Wednesday 28 March 2018

If you’ve ever said that you love hats but

...you never have opportunities to wear them

...they don’t suit you

...London Hat Week can fix that!

London Hat Week is a collection of hat related events run by individuals and organisations across London, celebrating the art of hats in the City that is home to some of the most talented hat designers in the world.

Here are some highlights

  • Party with world-famous milliner Stephen Jones OBE at Dame Zandra Rhodes’ Fashion and Textile Museum at the London Hat Week Launch Party on Thursday March 22. The current T-shirt exhibition, ‘Cult Culture Subversion’ will provide the backdrop with music from renowned designer and DJ, Barrie Sharpe (founder of Duffer of St George). A few tickets are left online. Hats are a must.

  • Grab a hat and some friends to join us for the Hatwalk along the Southbank on Sunday 25 March. Meet outside the Tate Modern (river side) at 2pm for a walk to City Hall for a mass photo opportunity followed by a picnic at our Supplier Fair inside Guy’s Hospital opposite The Shard. Let’s make a scene fit for Instagram! FREE event - no need to book. (Family friendly and dog-friendly - bring an umbrella just in case)

  • Royal Wedding invite lost in the post? Come to the next best thing - An Evening of Royal Millinery panel discussion at Archer Street Champagne Bar in Soho. Imagine an episode of Question Time where the topic is hats and my co-founder, Becky, is our Dimbleby for the night. Bubbles on arrival and live entertainment in between grilling the milliners. Be seen in your most regal hat/tiara.

  • If you are out West and with an urge something different, try The Magician’s Hat. (Family-friendly event)

  • Fancy learning from the experts, there are still a few spaces available on our masterclasses. Jaycow joins us all the way from Canada to teach how to make a 1940s style sinamay percher. Ian Bennett’s masterclass in floating feathers is not to be missed. Tina Giuntini will be sharing her secret to the perfect turban - bang on trend for this year. Discover fish leather with Jane Fryers (no, it doesn’t smell) and pleating techniques with Bridget Bailey.

Brain Tumour Research is our charity partner and there are some fab items on offer in our prize draw this year
