The cutest little thin knit 1940s/1950s cardigan. Black with a delicately embroidered cherry motif. The wide neckline looks good with a collar underneath or with just a little cami. It has a special vintage feel thanks to the puffy shoulders and rib at the bottom and sleeve ends. Great with a wide swing skirt or pencil skirt. A lovely little reproduction that is cute as cherry pie.

This chic style of skirt became fashionable in 1947 when Dior introduced his New Look (see this skirt coupled with our New Look Jacket inspired by Dior’s 1947 range). Once rationing had ended there was a new trend towards fuller skirts, Dior had wanted to create a look that was feminine, ladylike and a stark contrast to the utilitarian and work wear that had been worn by women during WWII. The style evolved through the fifties and gained popularity thanks to icons like Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. The Sylvie Swing Skirt in black is made of a high quality cotton satin that is heavyweight enough to remain full and flared. An extra piece has been sewn on the bottom with decorative stitching giving the skirt stability and wont raise too high if someone gives you a twirl on the dance floor.

Gorgeous 1940s inspired dress. Fantastic colour, beautiful fit and ever so comfortable to wear. This dress is less structured than many of the other Stop Staring dresses, lightweight and carefree the A-line skirt is a vintage below the knee length, floaty enough to show movement in the skirt but wont float up to show your knickers! The bust features gathers across the square neck line, chest and sleeves, fitted but simple construction through the mid section and a-line skirt. A dress with some really gorgeous 1940s features. It’s a really versatile dress for an season and makes a good transition day to night. Post box red in colour with black tie belt and bows to accent the forties square neck line. Fun, feminine and flirty.

Instead of the obvious gingham swing dress with huge circle skirt and petticoats we decided to bring you a gingham dress that is simple, sexy and could be worn ‘everyday’. Made of a stretch material it will flatter and fit your feminine shape, darts and gathers accentuating a small waistline and curves above and below. It’s a pencil skirt with a slit at the back. Tailored and structured in a simple yet alluring way the cute retro flourish of woven cherries is a nice little extra detail.
