The cutest little thin knit 1940s/1950s cardigan. Black with a delicately embroidered cherry motif. The wide neckline looks good with a collar underneath or with just a little cami. It has a special vintage feel thanks to the puffy shoulders and rib at the bottom and sleeve ends. Great with a wide swing skirt or pencil skirt. A lovely little reproduction that is cute as cherry pie.

An extravagant pure wool jacket! Inspired by Diors New Look from 1947. Hollywood stars of yesteryear flocked to Paris to get the couture look, now you can be a screen siren too in this fabulous jacket. This piece is truly a keeper! It has a dress collar, two front pockets with pocket flaps and long sleeves with puffy shoulders. There are four buttons in the front and a strap detail with two decoration buttons in the back. It has thick polyester lining with a half moon shaped fabric piece in contrasting material in the neck. The voluminous flouncy detail in the back of the jacket adds a bit of drama.

The front view photo doesn’t do justice to the colour of this jacket, it is a bright vivid dark green.

This chic style of skirt became fashionable in 1947 when Dior introduced his New Look (see this skirt coupled with our New Look Jacket inspired by Dior’s 1947 range). Once rationing had ended there was a new trend towards fuller skirts, Dior had wanted to create a look that was feminine, ladylike and a stark contrast to the utilitarian and work wear that had been worn by women during WWII. The style evolved through the fifties and gained popularity thanks to icons like Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. The Sylvie Swing Skirt in black is made of a high quality cotton satin that is heavyweight enough to remain full and flared. An extra piece has been sewn on the bottom with decorative stitching giving the skirt stability and wont raise too high if someone gives you a twirl on the dance floor.

A fabulous red cardigan with a vintage 1940s feel. It ends just below the waist so matches 1940s style high waist pants and skirts perfectly (shown here with The Lola Trouser) it will also go great with a 1940s tea dress or other.
